PT Indo Sultan Jaya has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Ethiopia’s TK Group Manufacturing and Trade PLC — a milestone in industrial and economic cooperation between Indonesia and Ethiopia, sealed at the company’s headquarters in Cikarang, Bekasi.

A framework for industrial cooperation

The agreement was signed by Mr. Ahmed Sultan, Chief Executive Officer of PT Indo Sultan Jaya, and Mr. Sheikh Tofik Kedir, Chief Executive Officer of TK Group Manufacturing and Trade PLC. It establishes a framework for collaboration in the development of the soap manufacturing and palm-oil derivatives industries, with a focus on sustainable industrial growth and expanding market opportunities across East Africa and beyond.

Where the two companies will work together

Under the agreement, both companies will explore cooperation across several strategic sectors:

  • Soap manufacturing
  • Manufacturing and distribution of palm-oil derivatives
  • Industrial technology transfer, technical assistance, machinery procurement and factory engineering
  • Development of strategic logistics infrastructure — including oil-terminal port initiatives in the Gada Economic Zone, Djibouti and Berbera — to strengthen regional supply-chain connectivity

Knowledge sharing, technology transfer, sustainable investment.

Witnessed at the highest level

The signing ceremony was witnessed by H.E. Prof. Fekadu Beyene Aleka (PhD), Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to the Republic of Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia and ASEAN, together with Ms. Sylvie Tomasua, Chairwoman of the Africa Bilateral Committee at the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN). Their presence underscored the shared commitment of both governments and the private sector to strengthening bilateral trade, investment and industrial collaboration between Indonesia and Ethiopia.

What it means for partners

The partnership reflects PT Indo Sultan Jaya’s continued commitment to expanding its global presence while contributing to industrial development in emerging markets through knowledge sharing, technology transfer and sustainable investment. It reinforces the growing economic relationship between Indonesia and Africa, and opens new opportunities for industrial investment, technology exchange and regional trade.
