PT Indo Sultan Jaya has signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a joint venture with Tanzania’s Tanganyika Oils and Fats Allied and Food Products — the company’s first step onto the African continent, sealed at the Embassy of Tanzania in Jakarta on 26 June 2026.

A gateway into East Africa

Under the agreement, PT Indo Sultan Jaya will hold a 75% majority stake in the joint venture, with the Tanzanian partner holding the remaining 25%. As the first phase of investment, the company will develop a soap manufacturing plant in Tanzania to serve as a regional production hub for East Africa.

The facility is positioned to supply Tanzania, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Zambia, Rwanda, Burundi and neighbouring markets — a combined potential market of roughly 500 million people.

Tanzania, our gateway to Africa.

Witnessed at the highest level

The signing ceremony was witnessed by the Ambassador of Tanzania to Indonesia, the Director for African Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, and representatives of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) — reflecting strong support from both government and business in strengthening economic cooperation and investment relations between Indonesia and Tanzania.

What it means for partners

The joint venture marks a significant milestone in PT Indo Sultan Jaya’s expansion strategy — establishing a manufacturing footprint on the continent, adding value within the local industry, and positioning Tanzania as a strategic gateway to the wider African market.

For export and private-label partners, it widens our reach and shortens the line to East African demand, backed by the same commitment to quality and traceability that defines everything we ship. If you’d like to explore opportunities off the back of this expansion, our trade desk is ready to talk.
